New Computer Checklist

I recently had the opportunity to set up a brand new Sony Vaio F Series Laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The first thing I did was take a look around for some specifications. The laptop had an Intel Core i3 CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 500 GB hard drive for plenty of storage. Also, as a nice perk it had a Blu-Ray Disc player, nice!

When I received the laptop it had a Windows Experience Index of 5.0. All of the Components that were tested were at least 5.9 or higher except the Graphics came in at 5.0. Solutions, Solutions, Solutions

First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Dave and I started my company Authentic Solutions, LLC back in 2003. I graduated with a Computer Science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Since then I have provided technical solutions to small businesses, groups and individuals. I live in Oak Forest, IL 60452 which is a southwest suburb of Chicago. Along with the technical content that I will be sharing, I will most likely mention my two favorite teams: The White Sox and the Blackhawks. Both have recently given Chicago sports fans a reason to cheer for their sports heroes.

Why am I blogging?

Well, I decided to create a blog because I wanted a reference of all the information that I have gathered in solving problems for people. In case I need a reference, I can just look through the archives and find what I am looking for. I want to be more effective and also share the information so someone else can benefit. If I do the work to find a solution to a problem, then maybe someone else can benefit from the work that I have done. Everyone wins! Finally, I am always looking for a challenge and I look forward to my blogging quest.

I will be writing articles that deal with all areas of information technology. What are the topics? Read the rest of this entry »
